The Anointing: Breaking Every Yoke and Walking in Fresh Oil

The anointing is the tangible presence and supernatural power of the Holy Spirit
resting upon a believer to fulfill God’s purpose. It is divine enablement for assignment, not emotional hype or self-effort.
What the Bible Says:
1 John 2:27: “The anointing which you have received from Him abides in you… just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.”
Jesus operated fully in it:
Luke 4:18-19 — “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor…”
Acts 10:38 — God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and power to do good and destroy the works of the devil.
In the Old Testament, oil pictured this power. When Samuel anointed David, “the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward” (1 Samuel 16:13).
What the Anointing Does
• Breaks yokes and removes burdens (Isaiah 10:27)
• Brings fresh strength and joy (Psalm 92:10)
• Imparts supernatural wisdom and boldness
Every born-again believer has the Holy Spirit within, but the anointing is the Spirit coming upon you with power for service (2 Corinthians 1:21-22; 1 John 2:20). Many feel frustrated because they have the indwelling Spirit yet lack the flowing power of the anointing.
How to Walk in It Consistently
• Stay hungry for God
• Live holy and consecrated
• Obey the Holy Spirit immediately
• Stay faithful in the Word daily
• Maintain consistent prayer and worship
• Ask regularly for fresh oil
The anointing is given for Kingdom service, not personal fame. When it rests on you, people sense it, sickness responds, chains break, and hearts open to the Gospel.
